Some Soldier's Mom

Yes, the story of the letter is good news... these last "insurgents" (which is too legitimate a word to my liking) use the presence of Coalition soldiers as their excuse to commit crimes... they gain nothing but contempt from the Iraqis and I'm certain, others in the Islamic community.

Stay safe.

Awesome news on the CNN story. You guys are awesome. There's little I can do to support back here at the states(besides spreading the word) so don't hesitate to ask if you need any supplies shipped over to you.

This is the first soldier blog I have replied to. I was and will soon be again, a Sgt in the Ohio Army National Guard. I got out in 2000, having spent 8 years active and an exhaustive 5 years in the guard. Now, 5 years later, I have an opportunity to pull myself up from my bootstraps. I am now stronger in my Christian faith and more determined to be the soldier I was meant to be and not be told to "tone down my esprit de corps" anymore. I am a 31U. I pray for you guys over there. I cry when I watch the news and documentaries. Some say soldiers don't cry. Well, yes Virginia, they do. I remember the first sanbox encounter. It wasn't as involved as this. My only regret is that I wasn't in when this started. I have a mission in my life and it is to serve and serve well. I pray for you and your soldiers safe return to a homeland that loves you all and cares about you. In Jesus name, Amen. OOOOSHAAAAAA! (Can you tell I served in arty?)

Dan

Thank you, Sir. Keep up the good work.

"The overwhelming majority here hate the terrorists"

But how big is the minority? Even 5% is quite a lot of people, and a very small number can operate an effective terrorist campaign.

First off: thanks for replying to comments

My only question/point would be do the Iraqi people trust the ING/IA/IP more then the Americans? When the Iraqi people feel confident enough to tell other Iraqis about Michael Moore Minutmen will be the turning point. I think.

How could you not hate the cause of this?

I wish there were a way we could round up all the innocent Iraqis and put them somewhere safe so we could deal with these animals the way they deserve!

The most important thing is the will of the Iraqi people. The overwhelming majority here hate the terrorists, and their hatred grows with every IED.

What Iraqis may need is more faith in themselves - with a little help from Peter Pan.
